Dr. Kristian Balzan graduated B.A., (Legal & Humanistic Studies) in 2000 and a year later obtained his diploma of Notary Public from the University of Malta.
Having graduated as a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.,) in 2003 he pursued his studies and in the same year obtained a Masters degree in International Maritime Law from The International Maritime Law Institute (IMO). Eventually in 2006 he also obtained a Diploma in Canonical Marriage Cases, Jurisprudence and Procedure at the Metropolitan Tribunal of Malta. Besides being in private legal practice, he has also been acting as Commissioner for Justice since 2006. Dr. Kristian Balzan is a member of the Chamber of Advocates (Malta) and a member of the Domestic Arbitration Panels (Malta Arbitration Centre).
Notary Public Dr James Grech is a warranted Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths in Malta.
His notarial work includes the authentication and notarization of documents, giving oaths, Drafting and Publication of various contracts including contracts of sale of immovable property, leases, loans & overdrafts, powers of attorney, donations, exchanges and a myriad of private writings.
He also advises on other areas of law including inheritance and estate planning, trademark registration and the setting up and registration of foundations and legal persons.
Starting his career at the Inland Revenue Department, Karl played a key role in the launch of various electronic services.
After a short span working at a local corporate services provider, he later joined Banif Bank Malta Plc where he was instrumental in creating the bank’s accounting and reporting framework, and subsequently was responsible for the Reporting Unit, which managed all the statutory, regulatory and tax-related reporting filed by the bank.
